I agree...really prostitutes aren't really a threat anyway...better if the fem cops strapped their guns and went after the dangerous criminals...

A person would not go there unless they were already predisposed to doing so. Most people will avoid going to places where prostitutes are prevalent, unless of course they are searching for one. The undercover cops can only say certain things to a person of interest, things that have to be within the entrapment rules. I much rather have police out there doing something about the problem. I have had a prostitute do business near one of our homes in the middle of broad daylight - near a school - tell me that is right and moral? She wouldn't be doing that if certain men weren't there to encourage the behavior.

I don't believe this is anything new. As far as I know, the police have posed as felons for a long time now, so as to catch real criminals. The only people who will be caught are those with criminal intentions because honest people have nothing to do with the vice trade. I suppose a person who wants to use the trade would be offended, but that's tough.

They've been doing it as long as I remember, and no, I don't think it's any more immoral than seeking out a prostitute to begin with. The people who seek flesh for hire ARE criminals in California, and nobody is encouraging them, unless you consider the "little head" to be the encourager.

I'm so glad someone finally came up with this question. Revenue!! Money makes the world go round. I like to watch Cops. When they have an episode about busting Johns I think"Why?" Who got hurt? Why do it? Revenue!! I often wonder if
our brave men and women in uniform think the same way. Busting Johns, you should be so proud.

Well, what about cops that infiltrate crime organizations, like a drug mafia, isn't the same as a female cop pretending to be a prostitute? No, they're not "non criminals" commiting a crime, its' part of their job. I agree with Sandman as well, you must know why, although there's nothing wrong with visiting a prostitue, hey, it's your money, just be careful next time.

A woman cop posing as a prostitute cannot legally proposition a man to be her John. That is called entrapment. He has to approach and proposition her for it to be legal. In that sense she is not encouraging anyone to do anything. If you know of a police woman doing this, She is breaking the law.

If you are not trying to hire a prostitute, you A. won't be in the area where the decoy officers are, and B. won't stop your car and ask the decoy officer if she wants to "party."
How would you like to be the wife of one of these "non-criminals" and discover you are HIV positive because your husband uses prostitutes?

Personally, I think prostitution should be legal and regulated.
That said, both the woman and the man are engaged in illegal behavior by law so it's fair.
The same could be said about sexual predators who are caught in sting operations.

My suggestion is don't screw around. If you do decide to screw around don't do it with prostitutes. Most of the things police do is a wast of the publics money. Look at the war on drugs.
