They don't get that luxury until they get old enough to get a job.

I learned how to do laundry when I was 10 yrs. old.. We had a large family and we all had to pitch in and help out. When I went away to college I was shocked at the amount of woman that didn't know how to do laundry at all ! I mean it's not that hard... It's part of growing up and being an adult.. It should be taught in school along with home economics ! My husband know's how to do laundry as well. Although, I prefer to wash my own things he'll wash his work clothes and towels/linens... Good luck

No, I would not send my teens laundry to a cleaners or laundromat would wash it myself with the money I spend on my own machine to wash I might as well wash it at home as pay someone to wash it for me, it is just as expensive to have someone else do it as do it yourself

It's ridiculously expensive, unless of course you have plenty of money to spare and don't mind spending it on ridiculous things.....like having your kids underwear drycleaned.

No way would I pay to have their clothes wash/dry/folded by the laundromat, If I had a ton of laundry to do I might take it....and the kids to the laundromat and wash it there.....but they would be helping. My oldest daughter (12) does her own laundry, my younger two can sort, put the detergent and fabric softner in, fold.....etc.

Same goes for cooking, my oldest has a basic repetoire of grilled cheese, hamburgers, etc. My younger two help make salad, etc. It's life skills that kids need to have.

Eh. I tried that once a long time ago just for my husband and I, and it's not so great. Kind of expensive. And you still have to hang things and put them away. Some people get creeped out by the thought of other people folding their boxers, lingerie, underwear etc. LoL. Anyway, take it from me, I HATE LAUNDRY!! And now there are 6 of us. And I still wouldn't do it. But it's your choice! Some may think it's worth it!

I'd have to say no to this one. When my children were 11 I used to show them how I did the wash, When they were 12 I would let them show me what they learned. and by the time they were 13 they could do there own wash, if I didn't get to it. This I feel is something that all kids should learn. Boys and girls. When they grow up and go out on there own, and don't have enough money to send out there wash. at least they will know how to wash it.

My teen knows how to do laundry-it's a chore everyone should learn how to do. If there is a machine available to your teen, why spend good money on this? Better to take the money and put it in your teen's college savings account!

Nope........I taught all my boys to do their own laundry by the time they were 12 and they have been responsible for it since then. The odd time they had to go to school in *not so clean clothes*.....that didn't happen too often cause they realized they had to do it.
Now if only I could find the wall to wall carpets in their rooms eeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkk LOL

I taught my kids how to do laundry. Now that they are old enough they are responsible for doing their own laundry. When they were younger I paid for items to be dry cleaned. Now they pay for their own dry cleaning.

When I had teens at home, and they were buying clothes, I specifically instructed them not to buy clothes that needed dry cleaning unless they were prepared to pay for it themselves.
That solved the whole dilemma.
If, how-ever, I had purchased something x-tra special for them, that did need dry cleaning , I would pick up the tab.

nope, i would start teaching them how to do their own laundry, if not the wash and dry part then definitely the fold and put away part. My mom had us put away our laundry and started us folding towels, face cloths and stuff like that til we were older.
