New Radiator, spark plugs and spark plug wires, and a new thermostat, distributor cap. and a brand new rebuilt engine.
There is always plenty of coolant in the radiator and in the radiator overflow. and it only overheats when i've been driving for 30 minutes or so.

check to see if there is too much anti-freeze in there as this can make it o/heat and make sure the watar in the header tank 9overflow as you call it is only to the level line, when car is cold.

Things that you might want to check, propery installation of the thermostat, and that you bleed the air out of the coolant, and that the thermostat is working properly. Another thing is that the propellers on the waterpump, that turn the water, may have been eaten away from old coolant and rust build up in the cooling system...also another thing is you might have a blown head gasket, letting combustion gases to be pushed into the coolant, making it overflow...do this remove the radiator cap, top off the coolant, crank car, and watch the antifreeze, if you see bubbles coming to the top, with a slight smoke, then the more the car runs it will push the coolant out---blow head gasket....let me know what you find out...gotspeed7883@yahoo.com

Just a thought, what is making you think it's overheating? Is it the temp gauge? It's certainly possible for the gauge, its wiring, or its sender to go wrong. If the levels are correct and you aren't losing coolant I'd suspect that . . .

is your fan coming on, radiator cap in good condition? i would let it get to operating temp, then feel the radiator hoses, if they are both hot your t-stat is probably opening, if one is hot and one is cold ,then you could have an air lock or bad water pump

i know its rebuilt engine ,but sounds like the head gasket, try filling the header tank so it overflows then run the engine if you see bubbles at the top of the tank then it be head gasket or something worse.

if your car is listening to the radio it may be getting hot due to some of the things its hearing. keep your radio off for a while to test. also with an new engine it is tight and can over heat.

Your water pump is bad the impeller is worn out It can't move enough water to keep it cool , Change the pump, hope this helps.

It probably just has a temper... try giving it a hug and listening to it's feelings every now and then! Talking to it's friends or a professional will definitely help.....
