I have two books in the works that could fit your needs. But neither one will be quite ready for awhile yet. Possibly in the next 5-7 years.
The first two are called Stories of the Dead Earth and the other is The Price of Freedom.
The first book part of a ten-book saga that centers on magic, mecha, dragons, and evil kings. (And a scorned queen in the third book.)
Books 1 and 2 revolve around two lost princesses orphaned from an ongoing war with an evil king. Their journey takes them from a seaside town torn apart by an invasion from a neighboring land--to a war galleon infested with all kinds of creatures and monsters, while escaping from Xanix.
Book 3 opens up with Jeanna Ulysses getting spurned at her chance at romance by the ship's captain--while the Queen of Jasper is seeking to win his hand. However, she discovers that Jeanna is also trying to claim Tiddus for her very own as well--so the feud is just beginning between these two women. :0)
The Esmeralda Jasmine is barely seaworthy after leaving The Hole, and is currently limping towards Jasper. But at the moment, the ship is under seige by something otherworldly and extremely powerful.
The Price of Freedom centers on a war between the human race and the mysterious Neos. Two unlikely people--an ex-lieutenant and a liberated, techno-organic--team up together to travel back in time to stop this conflict from ever happening.
Their journey takes them from Washington D.C. to San Francisco. But along the way, the pair encounters scores of NuGen and Neos--along with bands of humans either trying to live out their lives the best they can, or joining forces with either Kenneth and Kayla to fight against the Neos and the Mother Control Matrix.
Having fallen in love with one another, Kenneth and Kayla try to uncover more of the past buried deep inside her artificial matrices along the way. But things aren't always what they appear--leaving more questions than answers.
Including what to make of Kayla's intended--and unusual--pregnancy. It's the first time in Kenneth's experience that a soldier-class drone could ever *get* pregnant--let alone fall in love with a human.
But everything about their relationship is anything *but* normal.

Romance and adventure mixed together.... I have the perfect books for you!
Twilight, New Moon, and soon to be Eclipse (comes out August 7th)
Here is a link to the author's site where she has more information on these books.
http://www.stepheniemeyer.com
Also...here is a link to an amazing fansite that is on great terms with the author. The discussion forums are currently down due to the Eclipse release, but they will open up again afterwards.

Now the thing is...these books are about vampires. I do not really like reading about vampires, but these vampires are such a different kind than ANY you will ever read. So give it a chance! ;)
Happy reading!

May I suggest something just a little bit different? There is adventure here; maybe not as much romance as you'd like. I'm still reading it, but have enjoyed the first chapter so very much that I'm "taken" with it.
The title is Meridian; it's one of Alice Walker's. Do you know of her? She wrote The Color Purple and Possessing The Secret of Joy.
Meridian is the name of our heroine. She must dare and confront the status quo in a town in Mississippi, set in a time frame not long after the enactment of the Civil Rights Act. It's both funny and suspenseful.
I have lived in the South in USA for over twenty years. I can tell you this author knows her material, subject matter. She's an excellent writer. I should hope to write as well as she.

Meg Cabot's Mediator sequence replaced into large, it has a different paranormal topic with some romance thrown in; very relaxing. Avalon intense, additionally by potential of Cabot is a large retelling of the King Arthur legends. This one has action, myth and romance. Libba Bray's a large a bad elegance and its 2 sequels replaced right into a large trilogy, dissimilar myth, yet no longer sturdy on the romance factor.

I'm very big in to age appropriate reading, so if you are younger like 15-18 you might like Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series. If you are older Iris Johansen has quite a few: No One to Trust, Ugly Duckling, and On the Run. Also Anne Gracie has a series. They all start with Perfect: Rake, Waltz, Kiss, and one more.

I have enjoyed books by Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb Suzanne Brockman, Jayne Ann Krentz. Also Alison Kent I haven't read any of her books yet, however I read her website and she has a series dedicated to Men with military training and the women who fall in love with them.
