There can be only one...and that is Freddie!
Elvis was good, but really didn't project a lot of emotion.
Rod Stewart was better in his early years.
I think Harry Nilsson had a nice, emotional voice. Everybody's Talking, Moonbeam, Without You. He sang different types fo songs...some funny, some sad, some raunchy, some beautiful...and you could feel what he was singing in every one. Also, he did an album of standards, "A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night" with songs like As Time Goes By and Making Whoopie. He was a great singer with an amazing range. Sorely missed!

Rod Stewart from his early years..Like on the album "A Nod Is As Good As A Wink To A Blind Horse".
Steve Howe from YES.
But nobody was better than Freddie Mercury, and I was never a big fan of theirs.
Oh, and lets not forget Jim Morrison.

well remember it was classic rock singers that was asked for.
While i agree with some of these people having a great voice some arent of the classic rock genre.
Freddy was the best.
I would go with ..
Steve Perry from Journey
Robin Zander from Cheap Trick
Robert Plant from Zepellin
Paul Rogers from Bad Co
Jim Morrison from teh Doors
Daltry I liked but I dont think he quite fit the question.
Now since then
Sebastian Bach of Skid Row ( in my opinion the one guy who might have been as great as Freddy, but now he is going broadway for some reason )
Chris Cornell From Soundgarden/Audioslave , damaged his vocal cords though.
More recently than that
Jared Leto from 30 seconds to Mars
The singer of My Chemical Romance is impressing me with his intensity also.

Definitely Paul Rodgers of Bad Company- some call him "The Voice". And Robert Plant in some of Led Zepplin's bluesy songs cannot be topped.
