I was watching Tony Gwynn get his 3,000th hit on ESPN Classic, and Craig Biggio did it earlier this season, it just got me wondering if anybody has ever reached 4,000.

Pete Rose has 4,256 career hits. But if Ichiro was to play his whole carrer in the MLB he would have way more than that.

For Michael and Jake, who says Pete Rose's hit total is not the official record? Everywhere I've looked, he has the most hits. Michael even gave a link to Wikipedia and it even notes this is the official MLB record.

peter edward rose with 4,256 even though its not an official record because of the whole gamlbing thing. so officially the record is ty cobb with 4,191. and those are the only 2 with 4,000.

Pete Rose - Most hits, he had 4256 but the record isn't recognized because of his betting on MLB games.
