Both are among the greatest players of all time. Both have (or will have) all time records that won't be broken for many years.

But both have clearly broken the rules. Rose admittedly bet on baseball. Bonds most likely has used steroids, which has long been prohibited.

I've heard that one day Rose could somehow get into the Hall Of Fame, despite his offences.

Will people hold Bonds' steroid use against him?

Which of these two greats will be inducted into the Hall first?

Bonds will get in first. He's still not convicted of anything regarding steroids. Until then let his record stand and leave him alone. If he is guilty them lay down the law. Roses won't have a chance until he admits he did bet on baseball.

Pete will never make it in because he is banned.
They _could_ lift the ban but there is no reason to do it.

BB will probably not make it either. In the 5 years between his retirement and his first year on the ballot several things could happen.

Greg "BALCO" Anderson may get tired of rotting in prison and decide to testify.

If we can develop tests to detect the BALCO products BB may have used and assuming we have preserved a sample, we could have real proof of his steroid use.

The HoF voters may simply decide to err on the side of caution until we DO get some answers before taking his induction seriously. They appear to be doing this with Mark McGwire and may do the same for BB.

barry bonds will. first ballot HOF...no matter what. even if he is convicted, its still just a 50 game suspension not a ban or anything.

pete rose was, on the other hand, banned from baseball because he was proven guilty of betting on games. he will never be in the hall. well, unless he is unbanned from baseball which i do not see happening.

Under current conditions, Bonds. And this is a trivial question, since Rose is completely ineligible.

Bonds. Gambling is the one sin that baseball cannot forgive. They may let Rose in after he has passed away. Sad situation.

neither... rose will never make it in... read the dowd report.. you ll agree...
bonds* wont make it because of the balco issue, his ADMITTED doping, the irs issue, the girlfriend issue, and the fans wont have it...
mark mcroids is the poster child for this.. only 20something of the voters voted for mcroids.. bonds* will get the same treatment..besides bonds* will never make the standard 3000 hits to get in.....

niether one will ever get into the hall of fame, rose broke a golden rule of the game and bonds cheated, so neither will ever get it.

bonds, because until they can 100% prove bonds used steroids, he is still innocent. bonds never failed a drug test before. so until they can prove he is guilty, bonds is a first ballot HOFer.
