Im talking about these tory blue brigade that seem to vote consevative as some kind of class thing. Do they have any idea about what their policies are. In the south east of england these people are everywhere - most of them are over 70 though.

Traditionally known as the 'blue rinse brigade'...these are the traditional Tories and the south is their heartland. They are mostly the wives of 'comfortable' earners and consequently have never actually done a decent days work in their lives.

They don't know anything about the real world and are naturally bigoted and prejudiced about the small amount of news that actually penetrates their leathery brains.

They are dying out...thank goodness...the new Tories are a bit of a mystery at the moment. They don't seem to be terribly well organised though.

Beats me!

I come form the poorest part of the South East Wales Industrial heartland and I still knew people who voted Tory! Including my dad who was dirt poor but very hard working and a strong beleiver in traditional values!

An great auntie of mine who was exactly the same was a staunch Tory voter. When my grandad - a socialist - used to get frustrated with her and ask "But what have you GOT to 'Conserve'?!" (this woman was so poor she barely had a rag to cover her back with) she'd say "My freedom. This was back in the 1940s.

She also used to say she wouldn't trust the Labour party with the country's money as the Tories largely came from rich families and knew how to "handle money" whereas the working class Labour politicians didn't!

These days its such a mess who knows who represents what anymore!

Because no Labour supporter votes Labour because of what they perceive their class to be! (That was meant to be sarcasm).
I can think of at least a dozen people that I know that vote Labour because they are 'working class' - despite being very comfortably off (one is a millionaire). Wales, almost in its entirety, votes Labour as a matter of principle!
Perhaps people vote Conservative because they want to live in a country where the idle are not rewarded and where something new isn't banned every 5 mins. Or perhaps its just because they're a bit tired of the retards that have been sending this country onto the bloody rocks for the past 10 godforsaken years.
Derrr....

My Conservative perspectives stem from my stories in my youngsters, my father and mom are die difficult Labourists, and their zeal for the celebration placed me in the different direction. My family individuals broke aside especially dramatically, so i think in family individuals values. I observed what Thatcher did, and it is the reason i'm no longer a Thatcherist, yet i'm Libertarian, and the present Conservatives come the closest as a result far of view. All I see from Labour are champagne socialists; a team of persons out to make archives (and not human beings) rely. they choose anybody to earnings get entry to to universities, yet why is that? simply by fact, they understand that the extra people who circulate, the extra valuable we glance across the international, inspite of the devaluation of the degree. the present Tory celebration does not get it suitable each and all of the time, yet sometimes they do, and to me, they do extra effective than the Labour celebration. additionally, I studied historic previous at college, and despite in case you opt to believe it or no longer, the Tory celebration carry a extra valuable checklist for monetary administration in each successive government they have had.

It is Labour that does the whole class hatred thing - I don't vote Conservative because of anything to do with class - I vote Conservative because they have the right set of policies to benefit the country in most occasions. I think that lower taxation and a more libertarian approach benefits everybody in the longer term.

In America we vote conservative because it is the party with ideals closest to our own. We don't have such definite lines of classes here. I would guess most American conservatives could tell you the platform of the party or at least some of it.

You`re dead right, because labour is deemed to be more working class, though not really true nowadays, the upper classes vote Tory. Like my Mother, bless her, she`s over 70, but if you asked her what they stand for she would not have a clue.

Possibly because they like me feel that they do the least damage.
They are all Ba--ards we know that the Tories are so we know were we stand. Labour tries to convince everyone they are our freinds but they are still Basta--s but they are lying Bast---ds which means they are worse than the Tory lying B---ards

Because they are in denial about just how far the torys have fallen from grace and how long it is going to be before they are a credible alternative to Labour. Think back to Johnathan Aitken and Neil Hamilton and Jeffrey archer (need I go on)
