It took me about 3 months to prepare for the GMAT. But the thing is, you have to be flexible if you are studying on your own. Your schedule might change due to professional and personal reasons. When I first started, I imagined that I would need 5 months to prepare. But I decided to be anti-social and was able to study a lot in a shorter time and I thought I was gonna finish in 2 months. Then...my company workload increased and I had to adjust my schedule again. You also need to be consistent and devote at least an hour everyday to study.

Depends on a few things--where do you want to do your MBA? What score do you need?
How similar is the work you do to the questions on the GMAT? (Usually not very...)
I would say typical is 3 months, but I have had students who studied for a year, and I know a few who studied for a weekend or so.

The Tea-baggers continuously complaining related to the undesirable issues the government does, then they turn around and characteristic their palms outstretched searching for a central authority handout whilst issues go incorrect for them... finished HYPOCRITES

studying for the GMAT is a waste of time... No seriously, brush up on your math skills as best as possible.. the other sections are a breeze in my opinion..
keep in mind, do not apply "new techniques" learned on the job- stick to the fundamentals that you learned in your undergrad and the GMAT will be a success

Depends how many hours you are willing to put in a week.
I suggest you get yourself one of the commercially available books, take the first sample test, grade it, and then attempt to answer this question.
