Uhm, wow.. is this question for real?
Lol
Well, for one, you need clean plates to eat off of.
Two, bacteria builds up and can make your house A)
stink and B) really unhealthy.
Good enough?
You may not like it, but your Mum is right about being mad; bite the bullet.

I really dont like doing the dishes either, but in order to keep your house clean, and healthy, you HAVE To do them. I would make myself do them before I allow myself to do anything else. Rinse off the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, then they wont be gross to touch. The dishwasher is ALOT easier than doing all of the plates and silverware by hand. Maybe you and your Mom could work out a deal where you do the dishwasher one day and your Mom the next. You really dont have THAT tough of a life!
Good Luck and God Bless you!
PLEASE do the dishes before you and your family get sick!

Yeah, I know doing the dishes is not a fun job, but it has to be done. You sound a little spoiled to me. Being part of a family means you have to share the chores around the house. And....you will eventually run out of dishes and then it will take FOREVER to wash them all. Also, if you really think about it, it's kinda gross to let dishes set for very long. The food gets dried and crusty and can start rotting. When I think about that, it motivates me to just get them done soon after they are used. :) So just wash the stupid dishes and stop complaining!

Do the dishes for your mom. She does everything else for you. The least you can do is wash the freaking dishes.
You'll get your hands dirty? Boo hoo. Take soap and water and wash the things when you're done. It's not going to kill you. I've been washing dishes since I was a little kid. What the heck are you going to do out in the real world, because you know? mommy and mommy's boyfriend isn't going to be living your whole life.. And you think dishes are bad. Wait until you get a job.
It amazes me how parents can let their kids end up as spoiled as you.

cause if you don't they build up and start to smell really bad. once me and my brothers put them of for a few days and since im one of 7 the sink go so loaded with smelly dishes that he had to bring some upstairs and wash them in my moms bathroom cause it had two sinks and there were so much dishes.. like so much that they were on the counter and we couldn't turn the water on or it would go all over the floor, it was so gross. our dishwasher was broke so we had to do them by hand and there was like a huge thing of caked on sauce all over the dishes from like a week ago. and there was a bowl of old tuna that smelt like ***. that doesn't happen any more. my moms bf flips if any thing is in the sink so we usually just wash it when we are done or put it in the dish washer

I think you are reacting more to doing the dishes because of other issues. You may be rebelling against the disparity of what is happening in your home between you and your mother than anything else. I suggest you tell your mom that you will do the dishes when everyone sits down to the dinner table together and starts to act as a family.

When you get older and when you have a family, you'll have to do the dishes all of your life. No one likes doing them, but you have to get used to them because if you aren't adjusted yet, then you'll have a hard time later. Also, think to yourself; if you didn't wash the dishes, then not only would bacteria grow on them, but for the next time you want to eat, you would end up having no clean dishes left to eat on.

Do the frigging dishes you lazy git!
The majority of people who have even bothered to answer you stupid question believe that you should stop your whining and complaining and suck it up, do the dishes and MOVE ON!
You sound like a sheltered little snobby princess,
Think about the kids in Africa who are eating bugs of pieces of sharded ceramic and having to cart liters of water over kilometres of land, and then sweep and scrub and slough and dig and wash. HUH?
All you have to do is chuck TWO plates in a dishwasher.
Get over it princess.

Well if you would think about it, a mom telling a young woman doing the dishes is because she wants them to get used to doing chores and taking care of the family is so when she gets a family of her own, she will know how to do it.

If you live in a household, it's you responsibility to help out in maintaining that household by sharing in the chores. Your mom is not anybody's maid. Get off your lazy butt and do the dishes. When you grow up and have your own home, are you going to be a total slob? Ewwwww.

so interesting. because my son told me that if he lived in his own house he would never do the dishes. which of course is crazy because you don't have anything to eat off of if you don't wash them. you could try buying paper plates for your family so there are fewer dishes. you won't totally understand until you have your own apartment and your roommates refuse to wash any dishes. you will get bugs (roaches) and the longer you wait the harder it is to get the dishes clean. for now, you have to do them to keep your mom happy.
now that my son is 25 he sees the necessity of doing dishes but there was no way for him to understand when he was your age. mainly your mom has to refuse to give you allowance, take you to the mall or buy you school clothes until you do it.
because you want those things and she holds the power.
