I m here because I wanted someone to tell me I wasn t imagining this. Apparently I need to tell the world they are not imagining it. We have been enjoying a hummingbird family for several months now. First drawn to the cute little hummingbird feeders I found that are only 4 in. long about an inch around. They hang from plant stakes that go into the planters I have on the banisters of my deck. The tomato plant in on the ground directly under this overhanging feeder on the deck above. One day the tomatoes are just about ready to pick and the neck day the face of those same tomatoes gone. There are tomato splatters outward across leaf and other tomato alike. It is clear that my little hummingbird family had a hay day devouring the most delicious SUGAR meat of this beautiful red floral looking fruit.

My hummingbirds are definitely going after the tomoatoes..but only the red ones. My raised tomato bed is next to the feeder. I watched this today from my window about 10 ft away.

I really wish that someone would tell my little ruby throated friends that they, as indicated above, are not supposed to like tomatoes. If they knew this they wouldn't be wasting so much time in my tomato garden and my yield would be roughly 20% higher. Yes, they will eat tomatoes and prefer the biggest, roundest, and reddest ones available.
