What's the use in complaining about knowing stuff if we are all going to die?

Good question. There really isn't any use in knowledge for the sake of knowledge. The only "useful" knowledge is knowledge OF a person -- knowledge of Christ.

In the beginning, before the Fall of Man and before Death entered into human life at all, we had a relationship with the Father. We only had knowledge in the loving context of that relationship. But when we chose the tree of knowledge, we abandoned that sacred relationship for "mere knowledge."

That is why knowledge many times feels empty, and as you put it, "useless." We were never meant to have gratuituous knowledge; empty knowledge. Knowledge was always meant to be grounded in relationship. Thank God that we can rejoin this original context by entering into a relationship with God's son, Jesus Christ.

Acquiring knowledge is an activity that keeps us busy with all the time we have before we die. Besides, what else would you rather be doing? Having sex maybe? Eating? On Yahoo answers? Oh yeah, we DO all that stuff too and learn from those things. haha. Yeah I think I'm pretty content. Even with the ominous threat of death.

Realize this. The only way to know how to live is to know that you are going to die. We find two boring scenarios--to live forever and to know when exactly we will die. The beauty to life is that neither of these scenarios are the case (usually).

We learn and gain knowledge to wring out and enjoy this feeble existence with as much passion as we can muster. For those who don't, they are already dead and just don't know it.

Would you really want to go your whole life knowing nothing at all, surviving on pure instinct? That would be extraordinarily boring. Personally I believe in life after death; but even if you didn't, you've got years here, so you might as well do something useful with them.

What is the use of being born? Just because life is finite doesn't mean we are finished. Life is a banquet and you seem to be starving. Hey, grab a big spoon and dig in. FYI, cynic isn't on the menu. Blessings on you.

good question! I guess we are suppose to pass our knowledge on to our children, be a teacher or an inventor.

We do spend all or our lives learning, just to loose our memories when we get old or like you said, die.

I guess it depends on where you are going when you die. Knowledge of God through His word has eternal value. Most other is empty and "striving after the wind" .

If everything is so useless why do you bother learning how to use a computer to type the question...
