i've had my belly button pierced for seven years now and i can still remember when i got it.

let me ask you this, when you go to the doctor and get a shot, are you freaking out or wincing just a little from the prick?

if you're freaking out, then yes, getting your belly button pierced is going to hurt.

if you are wincing a little, then no, it doesn't hurt.

to me, it felt just like getting a shot at the doctor's office.
i think most people psych themselves out and make it up to be this big pain, but it's really not.

they stick the needle through and it's over.

what can hurt is if you get an infection afterwards.
make sure to wash the ring everyday with a mild antibacterial soap and actually rotate the ring up and down through the hole.

if you don't rotate the ring, scabby skin will form on it and if your ring accidentally hits something or gets caught on something, it hurts when that scab rips!

hope this helps and good luck! :D

it varies with people.
My friend got her pierced she said it didnt hurt, she jsut felt the needle go in and it was lile a quick pinch and some pressure from the ring piercing.
Either way its nothing as bad as something liek your face the eyebrow hurts ALOT [for me it did i took it out]

Your navel doesnt have alot of nerves so it wont hurt so much just keep it clean and sterile while its healing (salt water or Bactine is the best for piercings - and plus, Bactine relieves pain and itch so thats awesome and more helpful)

if it hurts like hell then the person piercing is probably too rough the needle needs to go in smoothly. Go somewhere you know is good - ask a friend to recommend you to a specific parlor.

Well, there really isnt a way to answer this question that wont sound smart-***-ish.

If you prick your finger do you jump and pull away from the sharp object?

Would you cannon-ball into a pool full of push pins and expect it not to sting a bit?

I am heavy into body modification. I respect it and support it. What you do with your body is an individual choice and I commend all who choose to live outside of the confines of societies norms.

But really? Does it hurt?

Though I have never gotten one, my friends say yes. Be careful about where you go. Check for certificates and see if they have any fines or violations. Also keep it clean because it can get an infection and leave a nasty scar. Follow the directions they give you on cleaning it and leaving it in.

Not at all forcing large metal objects into sensitive areas of the body doesn't hurt

Just for a second and you get alittle light headed if you stand up right afterward. But nothing to terrible!

they put a clamp on first and that hurts a little (think clamping your skin with a closepin) but my actual piercing didnt hurt at all. however, my bestfriends hurt ALOT, she cried and bled. i guess it depends on the person

Naw, it hurts slightly more than getting your earlobes done. It's a lot less painful than cartilage.
