First you need the area of the base which is a square of 14 in per side, so:
(14in)²=196 in²
now you multiply that times the height which is 8 in
(196in²)(8in)=1568in³

The volume of a prism is equal to the area of the base times the height. The area of the base is equal to the length times the width.

V = A * H and A = L * W
V = L * W * H
V = 14 * 14 * 8
V = 1568 in^3
