The liberal media already got him once. Smears all over the place. Liberals have gotten many Republicans to resign. Once they get one and keep getting away with it, they will keep trying.
The thing is simple: If Fred Thompson is a real conservative, Newt will stay home. If not, he will get in and motivate the base. It is sad how few have learned from the 1994 revolution

His negatives are extremely high, he has too mush opposition in his own party and cannot raise enough money to compete with the rest of the bunch. There is almost no chance he will be on the Republican ticket for 08.
You must be young, because if you followed him over his career you would know he carries a lot of political baggage with him.

The exact same things could all be said about Hitler, and Stalin, and every other ideologue who ever lived. How do you think they got to be so psedo-eloquent? They are single- minded, to a fault... and driven even moreso.

You do know he had to resign from Speaker of the House!
All we need is him
"Subject: [EPIC_IDOF] Gungrich: Censor the Internet because it is a terrorist tool
Speaking in Manchester Monday night, Gingrich said the country may need a different set of rules to reduce terrorists' ability to use the Internet and free speech to recruit and get out their message."

Gingrich Says Government May Have To Limit Free Speech In Terror War
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich used a New Hampshire event dedicated to freedom of speech to say the United States will have to re-examine that constitutional right as it fights terrorism.
Ethics sanctions
Gingrich was first accused of unethical behavior when he accepted an advance as part of a book deal as well as numerous other counts. Eighty-four ethics charges were filed against Speaker Gingrich during his term, including claiming tax-exempt status for a college course run for political purposes and using the GOPAC political action committee as a slush fund; see Joseph Gaylord. Gingrich retained former U.S. Representative Edwin Bethune of Arkansas, a Washington, D.C., lawyer and lobbyist, to represent him.
Following an investigation by the House Ethics Committee, Gingrich admitted that he had violated House rules and accepted the house committee's recommendation for punishment.[22][23] Gingrich was sanctioned for $300,000[24] after the House Ethics Committee concluded that his use of tax-deductible money for political purposes and inaccurate information supplied to investigators ( A NICE TERM FOR LYING UNDER OATH)represented "intentional or . . . reckless" disregard of House rules.[25] Special Counsel James M. Cole concluded that Gingrich violated federal tax law and had lied to the ethics panel in an effort to force the committee to dismiss the complaint against him.[26]

Newt isn't always like that though. for instance he had a so called "debate" with John Kerry on global warming, and he completely bowed down to him.

Newt should be committed. He's a very dangerous man who does not believe in freedom of speech and who HYPOCRITICALLY impeached Clinton for his personal indiscretions - WHILE HE WAS CHEATING ON HIS SECOND WIFE! Newt, if you ever read this, go **** yourself!
