How do you prepare tax information for an out-source contractor?

I'm interviewing potential candidates for work from India. As a U.S. single-owner business, what information do I need from them and what forms of ID and identification do I need? Is there an equivalent SSN in India?

YO! I would only let them do the book. I would not trust them doing the taxes.
