There are so many scientists and inventors, it is impossible to pick out one. Newton said "If I have seen further, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants". Each inventor takes things further because of what has already been done.
An excellent book for those who would like to know about the greatest brains of the last 500 years is "A History of Science" by John Gribbin. It is well written, entertaining and informative.

Thomas Edison, besides the light bulb, his company created 100s of other devices that revolutionized our society.

I don`t know his name ,but the one who pushed the bible as truth ,has generated the most financial wealth for all to preach its contents .We`re talking Trillions of dollars and it looks as though its never going to end .
