Im not sure neither is OB right now at how far along i am because i had a m/c before this preg. with no period inbetween so we are trying to estimate anywhere between 6-9 wks. i had an u/s done on wed. only a sac appeared so went and had bloodwork taken my levels were 24,000 on wed. and dropped to 19,500 fri. is it at all possible that this preg. is viable.

if i am only 6wks. then its normal not to see anything on a u/s but why are my levels decreasing?

i need good information i know what the worst could be and im prepared so i dont want to hear it if your just going to say im m/c, i need some hope and miracle stories from others who have experienced this.

Our bodies do great and marvelous things. Doctors continue to be suprised on a daily basis about an outcome of a situation. I am sure that this is very hard on you. All I can say is that your body will do what is best for you, and in the meantime, I will seriously keep you in my thoughts and prayers. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

I agree with Chase. Sometimes it can take up to 12 weeks for your HCG numbers to go down to a non pregnant state (usually under 5 mg). If, in fact this pregnancy is viable (and I am REALLY praying that it is!), this would explain the fall.

Also, your HCG numbers sound great! They are really high. If you could not see anything within the sac, I would not be alarmed at all. Your cycle is out of whack due to the miscarriage. The good news is that your HCG is high and you saw *something*. Also, I take it that you are not spotting?

I will keep you in my prayers!

I don't really know anything about your situation, but perhaps your levels were very high because of the miscarriage and now they are adjusting. Also, it is normal to only see the sac at 6 weeks.

Good luck!

The hormone numbers should always be going up but I have heard of stories where it went down and then back up again. If they can't see a baby at six weeks then I'd be thinking maybe it's not viable but pray on it and just see what happens. I hope it works out for you!!

i would just wait until you are further along and get another ultra sound. i had fertility problems so i was taking ovulation tests so i know when i concieved, but if i would have just gone by my last pd i would have been due weeks ago, but my ultra sound at 5 months let us know for sure we were looking at the right due date.

Nothing is impossible.

Sadly though, It sounds like you had a blighted ovum, or miscarriage. That would be why only a sac is visible, and the numbers are dropping.

I know you need hope, but if your levels drop that is really bad. They are decreasing because it isn't a viable pregnancy. Your doctor should have told you your options...I'm sure you already know what they are. I am really sorry.
