I am 5 ways away from my due date, and I went to bed last night feeling really yucky. I woke up this morning and have the worst head cold. I really want to have the baby, and wanted to help labor progress by walking, and the usual sex but I am too tired, I don't feel good, and I don't want to go into labor sick. Any ideas on how to bet rid of this cold. Its Sunday and I can't call the doctor to find out what will help, but I have slept almost all day! I just have a tone of pressure in my head!

HOnestly, I felt just like that, and like I was getting the flu, a fwe days before I went into labor. Most women have told me they felt the same.

If it is just a cold, using saline nasal spray (tilt head back, FLUSH each nostril until its running down your throat) will get rid of it literally in a couple days.

Congestion is common in pregnancy, and Lord knows the hormones whack your immune sysytem. Take the best care of yourself you can, which means lots of fluids and rest. Maybe some Vick's vapor-rub will help you breathe better. Whether it is a real cold or not, you will almost certainly feel better after the baby comes, and when you're in labor you will not notice the cold! Good luck!

I think you shouldn't take any medicine, drink plenty of fluids, and just sleep because after you have your baby you can walk and have sex when ever you want to but you should be healthy when in labor.

I think once you're in labour, your cold will be the furthest thing from your mind. You may not even notice it. In the meantime bedrest, honey and lemon in hot water, some cold and flu tabs (pregnancy safe ones) and hope it doesn't bring on labour. Good luck!
