In the Deathly Hallows, Voldemort murders Snape in the Skrieking Shack to get the Elder Wand. A weird gasious blue liquid comes from Snape, and he tells Harry to take it. Hermione gives him a flask..and he well...takes it. I didn't see that liquid mentioned again in the book. Was this a mistake, or is there going to be another book? There might be another answer, that's why I'm asking.

Memories, many memories. Of how he first met Lily, his and Lily's trip to Hogwarts in their first year, being sorted, spending time together, their breakup as a couple, asking Dumbledore to protect Lily, his view of Harry in his first year, Voldemort's return, Dumbledore asking him to kill him later that year after his hand was destroyed by the ring, his promise to tell Harry everything should Nagini start acting strange, everything.

It's snape's memories. If you read book 6, you will notice that during harry's lessons with dumbledore, they visit memories of other characters. The memories are stored in vials and they empty the liquid into the pensieve to be able to see inside a character's memory. Harry emptied the liquid Snape gave him into the pensieve in the headmaster's office and that was how he was able to find out about Snape's love for lily and all those other stories in the chapter The Prince's Tale :-)

It was Snape's memories. This liquid can be found the first time when Harry is in Dumbledore's office and was drawn into Dumbledore's memories.

However, as a suggestion, if you're going to put spoilers on YA, you might consider the people who haven't read the book yet and warn them that there is a spoiler in your question.

Hopefully you've finished the book. This liquid was Snape's memories. That is why Harry saw his memories in the Pensieve. Where do you think he got them from?

It was actually his hair. Remember when Dumbledore put his hair in the pensive and harry actually thought that it just was a mysterious silver liquid. I'm not sure why Snape's was blue (actually the book says silvery-blue and neither liquid or gas) since his hair is black, but it was hairs that contained his memories with/about Lilly and allowed them to view it. There may be another book, but not the kind so far. Just character backstories, her notes, etc.

It was his memories...if you'd paid attention in book 5 and thought about when Harry poured the liquid into the pensieve you'd realize that before having to ask.

Didn't you guys READ any of these books? Is wasn't a liquid - it was his memories - just like all the other times the pensieve was used. No there aren't going to be any more books which is fine since the majority of people didn't understand the first 7 anyway. Pax - C
