SO far I have no holes for the front bumper...
I don't mind holes, as long as my front license plate is installed on there...

If I take it to a BMW dealer, how much will they charge me to install a bracket for my front license plate?

The Dealer will have it installed free of charge. The only thing you may or may not wish to change will be the frame with the dealer's name and information.

Tell your salesman to make sure a bracket is put on, and not just holes drilled by an inexperienced serviceman.

There should never be a charge for this service (regardless of a needed bracket).

It sounds as you already have the car, and no front bracket, perhaps you are in a state that does not use front license plates.

In this case, you will have to buy the front bracket. BMW makes specific plastic molded brackets that custom fit each model/year of car. The dealer can order it, or they may have it in stock. It will cost you about $40 - $50. It will probably NOT be painted, just black plastic, so you will also need to have it painted. This could cost anywhere from $50 to $150 depending on who paints it.

Why not just call your local BMW dealer and ask them? The answers you get here are just going to be speculation.

Here's the thing. You can probably buy a holder and do it yourself. But if you mess it up it is going to cost you to fix it, or you have to accept it looking ugly. Or you can pay a little bit more and have some professionals do it. I'd go with the professionals at BMW.

You need item number 9 in the link below. List price is about $10. But you'll need it sprayed to the color of your bumper, so that bumps up the price. You can't spray it with a spraycan yourself either, because it's plastic and you need flex compound in the paint to stop it from flaking off.

It would be much cheaper if you know someone who works in a car bodyshop.
