The pregnancy line can be darker or lighter than the test line. That is normal.

The reason for this is the amount of hcg in your urine. Hcg is the pregnancy hormone that the test is testing for to determine if your pregnant. Hcg is the pregnancy hormone in your body when your pregnant. It can be found in your blood or urine.

The stronger/higher your hcg, the pregnancy line will be darker than the test/control band.

The earlier you are in your pregnancy or the lower your hcg lower, the pregnancy line could be lighter than the control/test band.

PS Considering the above, if you want to "double-check" your self, wait either 2, 4, or 6 days and test again, you'll notice that the pregnancy line will be darker than it was last time, darker than the control band!!! The reason for is not only b/c your further along, making ur hcg levels higher, but every 24 to 36 hours your hcg levels DOUBLE!!!

BUT if you re-test make sure you use the same test as you did last time. B/c different name brands of pregnancy test, test for different amounts of hCG to get a positive!

As long as it's positive you're good! GOODLUCK soon to be Momma, Congratulations!

Nope. The slightest line on the test side means you are pregnant. The lighter the line just means that you dont have a very large amount of the pregnancy hormone in your body. If you test everyday from today to next week, the line will get darker everyday. Ive seen a few tests where the test lines were darker than the control lines but those tests were taken weeks after a persons period was due.

It doesn't make a difference. The instructions in the pregnancy test package say that it's insignificant if one line is lighter or darker than the other.
Congratulations!

It should be easy to see so you're not squinting to see it and it should turn up within the ten minutes time limit of the test. If it turned up right away no matter how light it is a positive. If it turned up an hour later or something when the stick dried then no it's a negative for now and you need to retest in a few days.

If both lines are there you are pregnant. Maybe you're not very far along yet. These days the pregnancy tests can tell if your pregnant if you're only a few days late. If you are worried buy another test and take it using your first morning urine. Good Luck..

No that just means you don't have a lot of hgv (or whatever the pregnancy hormone is called) in your system yet. Wait a few weeks and test again and it'll be darker.

But you are pregnant so call your dr. and schedule a visit.

If you read the directions it tells you that it doesn't matter how dark or light the line is.
