Hello:
It is ok to drink pop while you are pregnant as long as it is only a can or two at the most everyday! Even a glass of pop a day is alot better than drinking a two liter of pop.
Alot of people don't like having to drink milk while they are pregnant so you can get the calcium that you and your baby need in different ways! Cheese, yogurt, pudding, even chocolate milk if you cannot stand white milk is a good choice too.
Make sure that you are talking to your doctor about taking prenatal vitamins because these are CRUCIAL when it comes to keeping you and your baby healthy! I would also try to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, protein such as chicken, turkey,or beef, and pastas are ok too. I would really try to stay away from the junk food such as cookies, pies, cakes, pop, etc because those are just nothing but empty calories and your baby needs good foods in order to grow big and strong.
I know that it may seem like alot to remember but just keep in mind that they better foods that you eat,the healthier and happier your baby will be! Try to eat as healthy as you can and a piece of pie or cake is ok once in awhile, but try to get plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, lots of rest, and drink lots of water too! Congratulations on your baby,I wish you the best of luck!! ;-)

I don't think a glass of Mt. Dew a day is any big deal. My doctor told me a cup of coffee a day is OK (I have a Coke instead) so 1 glass is fine. If you don't like milk make sure to replace the calcium from the milk with something else (cheese, yogurt, something). Calcium is very important for you and baby and if you aren't getting enough the baby will deplete your store and will be bad for you.

Okay, see what you have is a double negative. Caffeine in MT Dew and other pop is what causes such a problem. It raises your BP which lowers the baby's heart rate, and also slows blood and oxygen transfer down in the placenta. And with caffeine being in your body constantly is keeps you from being able to absorb minerals and synthesize vitamins, ESPECIALLY calcium, which is why milk is so important.
Stop drinking pop or anything with caffeine, and take your prenatal and eat broccoli and cheese instead of milk.

"Is there anything I can do I just want a healthy baby"
Yea, you can stop drinking mountain dew.
It has about the MOST caffeine of any sodas out there.
Caffeine is a drug, and just like other drugs, it can permanently damage your baby's brain or deform its growth.
It's okay to drink soda, but no more than one can a day, and I would say NOT mountain dew... Way too much caffeine.
And it's fine if you don't drink milk. I don't like to either, so I would recommend you take Calcium pills. I take calcium and it gets me my required calcium needs (pre-natals don't give you enough calcium) and it also does wonders for leg cramps (if you get those..).
Try not to drink too much juice.
I know it's supposed to be healthy and all, but fruit juices have TONS of sugar, and too much sugar in pregnancy can lead to gestational diabetes and/or a HUGE baby.
Good luck

my doctor says you can drink one pop a day. but however many ounces it is, you have to drink that much more non caffeinated beverage that day plus 8 ounces. Normally your supposed to drink 64 ounces of water a day. so you have a 12 ounce pop, that makes you have to add 20 more ounces to that day. so 84 ounces of water/juice. As for the milk, substitute it with other things. yogurt, cheese, maybe try chocolate or strawberry flavored milk. maybe sugar free ice cream or even better, frozen yogurt. Anything with dairy in it should be good. Talk to your doctor about the milk issue. If they think you need more vitamin A or dairy in your diet, he or she may prescribe you pills. good luck and congratulations!

Just make sure and take your prenatal vitamins, and eat a reasonably healthy diet and your baby will be fine. Don't smoke or drink alcohol. I would limit my caffeine, it could cause hyperactivity, and take it from me you do not want a child with ADHD. I don't think not drinking milk will hurt your baby. Your prenatal vitamins will help make sure the baby has enough calcium, although you may want to ask your DR. about possibly taking a calcium supplement.

The doctors want you to avoid caffeine and too much sugar. But what fun is pop without that right? :)
As for your milk question. I didn't and will not drink milk. Be sure and find other ways to get your calcium though. Tums work for this.

pop is bad for you anyway and i never heard that, but since your doctors said no, you should definitely cut it out. If you can't help it i think you should drink clear pop (like sprite, 7up, ginger ale, etc)
I think if you are not drinking milk your baby could lose out on a lot of bone-building nutrients that he/she needs. Babies have a lot of soft bone/cartilage stuff anyway, but they need all those sorts of nutrients. As long as you eat other kinds of dairy (like cheese, yogurt, ice cream) it should be ok, but you should ask your obgyn and a nutritionist. If you are lactose intolerant (since milk makes you sick) then your doctor/nutritionist can help you figure out other ways to get the nutrients that dairy foods have.

you baby doesnt need milk, it needs the calcium, so as long as your baby is getting enough its fine. im 13 weeks pregnant, and i had to give up pop, whats greater your love for pop, or your love of your baby? so hard to chose right? this is about your baby not you, its not forever. i would say every once in awhile pop is ok, i wouldnt do it every day
