Many of you like to say, that pro-lifers are trying to interfere with a woman's right to do what she wants with her own body. Personally, if you were actually doing something to your own body, like cutting off your own leg, I would say, "More power to you, it's your leg".
You refer to the child as a fetus as if it's just a tumor to be removed and discarded. Those of us who disagree with you see it as a human being and are taking it's side against those who would like to kill it.
So how is it that a party who continually tries to take the side of the oppressed and voiceless can turn it's back in this situation? How can you call Republicans callous and non-caring?

And then there is this silly arguement that a man can't have an opinion on this issue. I may not be able to have babies but I was one once. To me that makes me qualified. Unless you're only killing the girls.

They are unbelievably selfish and the last thing on their minds in the tiny forming life inside. The disrespect that have towards children is just contemptible.

They forget far to quickly that we were all once that tiny and helpless. To hear them talk they came out of the Greek God of Jupiter's head fully formed like the Goddess Minerva.

I read the rest of the answers and there are a lot of (I really hate to say this) stupid women out there. I am a woman and I believe that that child is a HUMAN from conception, it is alive. I also believe that it has TWO parents and that is enough to make it a mans issue as well. I don't hear a lot of fairness and balance for men on it...if a woman has a right to decide she doesn't want to be a mother then the father should have the same right to decide he doesn't want to be a father with the same legal protections the woman is afforded. Until that child leaves the womb the man should have every right to say he doesn't want it and should not have to be responsible for it. THAT would be fair on the abortion issue. Frankly I don't understand how liberals can scream it's none of the governments business and cite Roe vs Wade in the same breath. Abortion is murder...it's wrong...there is no way to justify it except under EXTREME medical conditions...even then it's touchy. It should be prosecuted as murder...But what about all of those women who will die seeking illegal abortions if it's outlawed (I love that one) Good riddance to baby killers...That's how I feel about it. They have already proven that the death rate of mothers having abortions did not change when it was legalized...the death rate of the babies comes to 100%.

There are 100 million children in the world that are living on the edge of life and death. Each new child you bring into the world is simply one soul that causes the death of another soul. You save no one. And the fetuses you force to be born due to your disrespect to those mothers who must endure your harassment are often unwanted children. You have no right to call yourself pro life. You are simply in the game of making yourself feel superior to others who are in a bad situation. Perhaps if first you save the 100 million, you will have a point to make. Until then you "save" one fetus and it causes the death of 12 children that are already born. http://www.prolifeismurder.com
Most people think that pro lifers are in this for their self aggrandizement. In your words you are "taking the side of the oppressed and voiceless". In my words you are killing 12 children to force a fetus to live that will suffer a terrible life.

i think of that obtaining a vasectomy is one superb way that a guy can take administration of his own destiny and avert having a newborn he does not want, while not having to surrender intercourse. Mandating vasectomies nevertheless? No way. i be conscious of it is not a extreme recommendation, yet yuck. A vasectomy includes slicing right into a guy or woman, despite if it extremely is basically a splash decrease. That sounds invasive to me. And reversal, collectively as plausible, includes yet yet another invasive technique, and does not artwork a hundred% of the time. As time is going via, the possibilities of a reversal failing boost.

This is an issue where the government needs to stay out!!
It's interesting that you don't even consider that some women opt for abortion only after finding out that the baby they are carrying is severly deformed. The women I speak of have had to make a heart-wrenching decision regarding quality of life and don't need the sanctimonious crap of others who have never been in their position!

first off, it is a fetus. that's the correct terminology. no one likes to have an abortion. women do not skip merrily to the local clinic and leave laughing up a storm. it's a choice, and a difficult one at that. you claim to care for the fetus, but you don't seem to care for the woman involved.

Dontcha just LOVE it when someone without a uterus rambles on and on about childbirth?

As if he could ever have a clue?

One who thinks it is OK to force a woman to give birth if she chooses not to?

One who believes that life begins at conception? (If so, bub, there are a LOT of frozen people in fertility clinics all over the world).

I figure it this way; abortion is a tough decision for a woman to make..most don't make the decision lightly. But, it is HER decision.

Now, let's talk about the irresponsible male who thinks it's perfectly OK to have unprotected sex with a woman and then bit*h if she has the kid - because he has to pay child support....or - bit*h because she choses to abort.

If every male took responsibility for his own sexuality and wore a condom, there wouldn't be any unwanted pregnancies.......NONE.

because liberals believe that if fetus' can't think (like republicans) that it is no loss to anyone.
The something cannot think, breathe, feel.
i think killing is wrong. but i think it isn't killing if a heart doesn't beat, if a mind cannot process, it is a piece of flesh. but i am not hear to argue.
i am here to say that if republicans care about life why do they throw away the enviroment and destroy actual people with real thoughts and hearts.

The whole premise of it is her body is a farce. Government regulates what you can do to your body all the time.

Radical abortionists are about not judging behavior. They are about doing what you want and refusing to accept the consequences. Listen to them and you will hear emotion and anger.

Jeff,

Here's my take on the issue.

Abortion is just totally lame, as compared to wrong.

How could two people have sex and NEITHER ONE of them have the maturity to employ some kind of contraception????

My only issue with the conservatives is that they whine a lot about the evils of abortion, but then they oppose universal access to contraception and comprehensive sex education.

Is that not hypocrisy?

In the United States, the teen pregnancy rate is more than nine times higher than that in the Netherlands, nearly eight times higher than the rate in Germany and nearly three times higher than the rate in France.

In the United States, the estimated HIV prevalence rate in young men ages 15 to 24 is over five times higher than the rate in Germany, nearly three times higher than the rate in the Netherlands, and about 1 ½ times higher than that in France.

In the USA, only nine states require sexuality education that includes information about contraception.

The Netherlands, where sexuality education begins in preschool and is integrated into all levels and subjects of schooling, boasts one of the lowest teen birth rates in the world — 8.2 per 1,000 women younger than 20.
