You sound like me a few months ago (my son is now 6 mos old)...You need to take him and put his head on your shoulder and wrap your arms around him and just sway back and forth, eventually he will go to sleep...kids love to be cuddled...Something else I did was invest in a swing that uses D size batteries and it rocks him to sleep, but I have to put a blanket in the seat beside his face, because for some reason that helps and he won't to sleep with out his pacifier..I hope that helps..if you need any more advice you can contact me through my IM or e-mail..Good luck!

be consistant and get a good routine going. A good play time followed by some cereal -if he's ready -a nice warm bath not raucous but calming words, no loud voices, no TV, then a bottle in a darkened room so he knows it's night. It's unfair for him to totally settle himself -you don't go from fully awake to asleep without some fussing -so would he. Hushing instead of talking helps "turn off" their little brain from listening to your voice -a wave machine with timer may help with the white noise effect. If it feels right to pick him up to help then do so putting him down right before he falls asleep. There are some of us who do not believe in the let them cry it out method who have good sleeping babies on our hands. The screaming and crying is not worth it for me and she now sleeps from 7 to 3 or so before I need to go shh her a bit. Good Luck!

take him to the Vet's Office ......... sorry couldn't resist ... well obviously full belly, dry diaper ... my son is 3 1/2 weeks and started becoming very difficult toget to sleep lately, everytime we lay him in the crib he wakes up screaming to be held, the swing usually knocks him (i mean i put him in a swing,i dont take swings at him to knock him out...but he does punch me regularly and i love it) I tried mixing 1 tbsp rice cereal to 2 oz formula to try to stop the feeding screaming so much,i think it helps but am cutting way back on the cereal to see how he does on it... but i did have to give in last night at 6 am this morning and let him sleep with me in the bed because he just will not sleep alone.... good luck.....

You dont. Keep the same routine every night, at the same time every night, and let him cry himself to sleep.

I promise it only goes on for a short while. Each night it lasts a short time, until eventually he just stops fighting sleep.

Iam right in the middle of it with my 6 month old. Its worth it though, trust me.

just let him play until he's getting tired maybe he needs to use some of his energy :)). Don't rock him to sleep since he will get used to it then it would be much more harder for you. By this, he can settle himself back to sleep whenever he wakes up from sleeping.

Nurse him, cuddle him, give him a warm bath, and snuggle with him until he's asleep.
