Feeling depressed after birth is normal, let your doctor keep you monitored to make sure it doesnt end up so severe that you need medication.

Sleep is what your body needs. You will feel less depressed when your body is under less stress. you MUST sleep. There is no reason that baby cannot sleep beside your bed and be healthy and happy.

Honestly, from birth on my son slept in bed with me. I breast feed and it was just the easiest thing to do. NOT WHEN YOURE ON ABIEN. I would nurse him next to me laying down, and then roll him acorss the bed (it was in the corner against the wall) away from me and fall asleep. His every movement would wake me up, but he slept sounder, and I slept more. Which is probably why we're both so sane.

As for so sleeping, thats over. He's 6 months and sleeps the night through in his own crib.

Welcome to motherhood after I had my first i was always paranoid that something would happen to him my biggest concern was that he'd die from SIDS so we bought this sleeper thing to keep him from rolling anywhere until he was a little older. I think every mother has worries like these and they never truly go away you just start to worry a little less more and more. Remember the baby was protected inside you for 9mons. this world is harsh and scary so of course you'll be worried. Right now your struggling with this brand new baby and trying to adjust things in your life all while barely getting no sleep. As time goes on and you and your baby adjust to one another you'll be able to create a routnine for things and daddy will get use to baby just as the baby will get use to daddy. I know the feeling of wanted to do things yourself but trust me let him help there may be a day when he won't help at all.Thats my problem now with my hubby. Also it sounds like you may have some baby blues I would talk to the doc if things don't get better by your postpartum visit. It'll get better. Congrats on the baby!!

You are going through postpartum depression. Please talk to your ob/gyn about this, don't let it go. I had a severe case of PPD after my now 5 year old was born, and it was debilitating. I ended up being on meds and in therapy for quite some time, and was grateful to have the help and support that I desperately needed. I was hospitalized at one point.

PPD can be a dark time for moms. Please, take care of yourself and talk to someone. Ask for help. You can't do it on your own.

HUGS...

It might not end if you don't get help. My symptoms lasted almost 2 years until my marriage almost fell apart. I finally got help and medication. You will feel much better once you talk to your doctor and start getting treatment. You might need medication, or counseling. I needed both. There's no shame in it. It isn't your fault.
