This question is for all women on here who wear high heels. IMmgine you are wearing strappy sandals or whatever and it's NOT easy to just kick them off. An emergency happens. Can you move fast in your heels? Do you die because you can't? Or do you have to stop, sit down, take off your shoes, then get up again (and probably die because that takes time)? Or would you get a man to carry you?
Be honest, because I see tons of girls who have no clue how to run in heels.

I wouldn't ever wear heels because I can't *walk* in them, LOL! I'm always barefoot now, but even when I still wore footwear, I've never worn high heels, ever. Horrible things!
But really I don't think people go around wearing clothing based on how quick they would be in case of an emergency... at least not in the relatively safe countries of the US, Canada, Europe... I run fine in bare feet (after 10+ years they're tough enough to run full-speed on gravel) but I wear long, gothic dresses sometimes and they're not that good to run in. It's just not something that I'm going to dress for unless we're gonna get a war on our own soil or something else will happen that causes the risk of an emergency happening to go *way* up from what it is now. I'm not denying accidents/emergencies can happen; just saying the risk isn't high enough that I'm going to go around wearing practical jeans, a sturdy long-sleeved shirt & sturdy footwear every day because of that risk.

Ok, I'm not a girl but can I answer too? I dressed as a girl for Halloween once (ok, several times but once wearing really high heels :-) ). I had this cool skirt outfit with a pair of pumps with a 3" heel on them but a friend give me a pair of strappy high heels with a 4" heel on them that she said would be better. I could barely walk in them, run? No Way, I could have crawled faster than run in these shoes. Funny thing is you mention about the straps so you can't just kick them off, yea, that's for sure! I couldn't get them off at all. They had 2 thin ankle straps on each shoe. The straps were tight so there was no way to pull the shoe off and with the tight skirt on, the straps were hard to reach as well and really hard to un-buckle. It was really hard to get out of these shoes
Me, I'd probably die while trying to get them off or while trying to crawl away. I think I could run a little in something shorter heel maybe as long as the heel doesn't catch something and trip me. But no way in these shoes.

Yup. In an emergancy (a REAL emergancy) you can do what you normally can't because it's an emergacny. Only if it's real, like someone is chasing you, or you're in a burning building. If it's something like you see a cat in a tree, probably not. Some people can run in heels anyway. I learned how because I thought I would need to run in heels sometime :). It's true. Nothing worse than missing a bus because you can't run.
I would never let a man pick me up in an accident unless I broke my ankle. I would feel so helpless. Ugh!

It is very dangerous to run in heels. Many women can, and it depends largely on the heel, but I wouldn't suggest it. If one of the heels snap off, you're stuck with a ruined pair of shoes.

I can run in heels. But I wouldn't run fast. For you being a beginner I would start trying to walk fast then work ur way up!

Eh. I can run OK in heels, but thats alright because I have separation issues and I never go anywhere alone and I can TOTALLY run faster than my friend in heels.

I can run in high heels, for about 3 years I lived in stilettos! I was a performer so I had to learn how to do cartwheels, back flips, etc, in them but my mother-in-law can't even walk in them!

my mom gave me a crash course in high heels when i was sixteen. between her advice, and stuff ive picked up on my own, im all pro in heels. i cant totally run in them if need to.
granted, it would probably be funnier to find a man to carry me...lol

I can but it depends on what kind. I can run in all high heels except for stillettos & other ones with thin heels.
