At least from my experience in my part-time high school job, no. But hey, it's not like I'm making less money than before, there's just more (less experienced and less deserving) people who make almost as much as I do now. Just recently got a raise above (the new) minimum wage though so I'm happy

Yes. It goes to 7.15 I believe... And it's minimum wage, so that means that you cannot pay anybody a lesser amount. Even if you already have a job and a pay rate, or even if you aren't' a member of a union (even though unions got you the minimum wage, fought and died to give you the 40 hour work week and benefits, paid sick days, and the right to hold your job even if you were sick... )

No, local pay thats already above the minimum wage is market driven. Only unions benefit from min wage increases.
