Yes, it's normal. The egg could be released from either side.

When the follicles swell prior to ovulation, this causes pain. and at the time of ovulation, blood or other fluid is released from the ruptured egg follicle. This fluid may cause irritation of the abdominal lining and pain on one side.

After ovulation, the fallopian tubes contract (similar to the way the esophagus does), which may cause pain in some women.

Yes. Only 1 ovary ovulates each month so the one that hurts is the one that is ovulating.

Yes... Completely normal. If you'll notice 1/2 way through your cycle when you ovulate you might have a pain on one specific side or both sides.

Ex: Left side pain during ovulation. Means when you get ur period you'll be menstrateing from your left side, b/c that is the side that released the egg, and now must shed.

yes only one ovulates every month for me my left ovary never hurts even when it is ovulating my right hurts very bad every other month

yep that's the ovarie that produced the egg for ovulation. don't know why we have two but it's kind of like men only have one teste that actually produces sperm, I guess it's to even us out or something.

yes, it means your one ovarie is ovulating and the other isnt. its very normal.
