Bush in terms of the total effect upon the team- certainly more defensive coordinators spent late nights worrying about how to contain Reggie and more fans bought tickets to see Reggie, but Addai was clearly better on the field. Both struggled early, but minus a couple of big games, Reggie was really quiet most of the year. He didn't even have the best season of the rookies on his team- that honor goes to Marques Colston.
Maurice Jones-Drew had a better individual year than either Bush or Addai, but in the end it's about team wins & losses, not yardage, catches and touchdowns.

Reggie Bush. Reggie Bush is awsome and is the most agile HB in the NFL now. Joseph Addai is good but Reggie Bush turned the saints from a garbage team to a good team

I am huge Reggie Bush fan but I have to go with Addai both of them shared rushing loads. But Reggie didnt run consistent until maybe the last 4 or 5 games. Addai picked it up midseason. Addai still manage 1,000 yds. Both teams have good quarterbacks and excellent field position. But Addai was more consistent when it came to positive to negative yardage ratio.

Joe Addai did. Reggie will have a better career, but like sportscasters noted all year, he doesn't attack the line of scrimmage. He looks like a pop warner running back with all the dancing he does in the backfield. Bush got better in the last five games of the season (over 5 yards a carry), but he was way too inconsistent. If is wansn't for McAllister, NO wouldn't have done anything this year.
Addai was much more of a consistent runner, always getting positive yardage.

I say that it was Addai. New Orleans got where they did because of Brees, Colston, and Johnson. McAllister was the leading rusher. Bush was simply a decoy most of the season. Seriously, he didn't even score a TD until later in the season against Pittsburgh after the New Orleans Saints had already established their offense and personality. Bush is simply there to sell tickets and provide highlights. I remember another guy who had the hype that Bush had, I believe he used to play in Atlanta.
As for Addai, he was the leading rusher on his team, beating out a veteran in Rhodes. He also stepped up and replaced Edge when no one thought he could. He helped the offense become a title winner instead of hindering them like some rookies do.

Reggie Bush confirmed to everyone why he will be the star of the NFL for the next ten years. Addai is a very good running back who complements a passing system very well, but Bush is the system in New Orleans.

i'd have to say joseph addai. he was the starter for the year, sharing time with dominic rhodes and still rushed for over 1000 yards and over 300 receiving. reggie bush, despite his talent, didn't even score halfway through the season. bush caught for more yards than he rushed, but wasn't the starting back and had less of a role in the saints year. though in the long run, i'd say bush will out-do addai. in the coming years bush will have a bigger role on the team, and surpass addai in rushing and receiving yards.

Joesph Addai had to share carries with Rhodes and still broke 1000 yards and easily helped Indy forget about Edge. Bush is more of a decoy
