Malfoy's did not become the Elder wand.

At the end of book 6, Dumbledore allowed Draco to disarm him on the tower. This was part of his plan. This made Draco the master of the Elder wand.

Draco did not understand the action, nor did he know what the Elder wand was. Draco left the tower without the Elder wand (it had been dropped from the tower).

Dumbledore then allowed Snape to kill him. This was also part of Dumbledore's plan. This is why Voldemort believed the Snape was the master of the Elder wand.

In book 7, Harry disarms Draco and takes his wand. This puts Harry in the position of being the winner of not only Draco's personal wand, but the Elder wand as well. The Elder wand was not present, so Draco was allowed to be defeated.

Voldemort steals the Elder wand from Dumbledore's tomb. When he does not get power over the wand, he kills Snape. Voldemort never understands why this does not make him master of the Elder wand.

Harry uses Draco's personal wand against Voldemort who had the Elder wand. The Elder wand recognized Harry as its master (he was holding Draco's personal wand) and did not perform (remember that the master of the Elder wand, in its presence was undefeatable.

As you said, Draco became the owner of the wand in book 6 by disarming Dumbledore.

In order to be an owner of the elder wand, Draco didn't have to have it physically. The wand recognized him as being the rightful owner.

Even though the wand was buried with Dumbledore, Draco rightfully owned it, although he did not know the merits of the wand.

When Harry disarmed Draco at the Malfoy's Manor, he became the owner of the elder wand, even though he, too, did not physically possess the wand. The wand recognized him as the true owner.

Remember Voldemort had the wand physically, yet it did not work for him. Although he had the wand in his hand, it wouldn't do his bidding for him because he was not the true owner of the wand. Harry was.

Go back and read that chapter, I think it's called The Wandmaker, and read carefully the conversation that Harry is having with the wandmaker Ollivander. He explains a lot.

Draco Malfoys Wand

Draco disarmed Dumbledore and his wand flew off the tower Draco never took it. So by disarming him he became the master. He was buried with it because they found it on the ground some where so they put it with Dumbledore in the tomb. Yes, Voldemort did take it from Dumbledore out of the tomb, but Draco was still master of the wand at the time because he disarmed dumbledore on top of the tower. When Harry was at malfoys house he stole Dracos wand (the wand he used to disarm Dumbledore) so that made Harry master of the Elder Wand.

draco's wand did not become the elder wand...he became the master of the elder wand which was earlier in dumbledore's power. according to wandlore, a wizard who wins a wand from another becomes master of the defeated/disarmed wizard's wand. harry never took the elder wand, he simply took draco's wand and in doing so became master of both draco's wand as well as the elder wand. and finally, malfoy only disarmed dumbledore in HBP, he never took the wand away n the wand was buried with dumbledore in his final resting place. read the part from " the prince's tale" till "the flaw in the plan" chapters thoroughly, u will get the answers u seek.

Ah, yet Draco *did* - in 0.5-Blood Prince. on the tower Draco disarmed Dumbledore, taking the wand without the consent of Dumbledore meant that he had, effectively, "gained" it. So, that makes Draco the 'grasp' of the Elder Wand - despite if it became buried with Dumbledore. whilst, in the process the financial disaster 'Malfoy Manor' in DH, Harry disarmed Draco via taking his wand he unknowingly defeated the 'grasp' of the Elder Wand and hence grew to grow to be the 'grasp'. Voldemort did not be conscious of this. So, even nevertheless the Elder Wand became in Voldemort's hand, it became unswerving to Harry, it extremely is 'grasp'. submit to in recommendations, the wand chooses the wizard. ;-) Draco's wand did not plenty grow to be the Elder Wand as much as this sequence of events.

Draco's wand di not become the Elder wand, nor did he actually take the Elder wand from Dumbledore. He became the master of the Elder wand when he disarmed Dumbledore, but he never touched it.

malfoy over powerd dumbledore = wand BELONGED to malfoy. it stayed with dumbledore, but malfoy was technically its rightful owner because he had won it.

harry overpowered malfoy (at his house and took malfoy's wand- the one he's used since his first year). because harry overpowered malfoy, now Harry is the rightful owner of the Elder wand.

all this time, Voldemort assumed that because snape had killed dumbledore, snape must have been the owner. Voldemort assumed that by killing snape, he would become the new owner of the wand.
