My band is looking for new songs to add to our set lists. Any input would be appreciated. We could play any type of rock, or music that could be played with a rock band set-up. What would you want to hear?

If i was sittin in a bar waitin for some good music to come on, I'd want to hear, maybe some Metallica, Disturbed, Black Sabbath, even some Three Days Grace, Black Label Society would be SICK and so would some Megadeth.

But besides that man, listen to the radio, well a good rock station anyway, K-Rock for where I live, and pick some songs off of their playlist thing.

Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin
Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
Could You Be Love - Bob Marley
Addicted To Love - Robert Palmer
Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics

Avoid obvious covers {like Stairway to Heaven or Smoke on the Water} as people quickly become sick of them.

Some type of rock that people can't really mosh to like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, some Beatles, The Doors, maybe also some rock that is still good but a little calmer like Soundgarden or Incubus. Good luck!!

I would just be happy if I heard one cover band NOT play the songs that are rotated on the radio every 10 minutes.

If you're in a bar you have to at least play Gimme 3 Steps by Skynard, and Takin care of buisness by BTO. They're just bar classics and no matter how young or old the crowd is, they will be hoppin.

Songs by 80s hair metal bands would be cool, as long as they are played true (or at least close to) how they were originally played. For example, I would not want to hear "Kickstart my Heart" turned into a (c)rap song.
