If it only happens when you're braking, then the problem is most likely with one of the front disc brake rotors.

If it only occurs while braking, it is most likely NOT the alignment, ball joints, steering arm, or the wheel bearings.

The old beater I drove in college had the same problem. It was most pronounced if you gently touched the brakes at 40-50 MPH.

If it's not warped too bad, it can be turned down. Some parts stores will turn rotors for free if you buy pads from them.

A new rotor is going to be expensive at your local brake shop. Call a local junkyard and ask them for the a front brake rotor for a (insert year, make, and model) vehicle.

Get your wheel bearings checked. A missing wheel bearing will cause shaking in the steering wheel. If you are slowing when it occurs it could also mean your rotors on your breaks need machined (although in that case, you should feel the shaking more in the brake pedal and less in the steering wheel)

no, something is wrong. You may have a wheel alignment problem or a warped brake rotor. If the car is under warranty, then take it to the dealer. If it is out of warranty, then take it to an alignment shop. They can replace the rotor if that is what it is. good luck.

No it is not normal. Sounds like you have a warped brake rotor. Shouldn't be to expensive of a fix but you will want to replace both front rotors and pads.

No. Sounds like your front brake rotors are warped. This is common and an easy fix at the time of replacing the front brake pads.

It sounds like your rotors are warped. New rotors aren't that expensive, but if they are thick enough, getting them trued is even cheaper.

If you ride your brakes downhills for long periods then you will warp your rotors. That's what lower gears are for.

No. I've had three cars and driven many rentals, and this has never happened to me. You need to have a mechanic check it out. Try to get a recommendation from a friend on whom to see so you don't get ripped off.
