I'm a Chicago native and live in Denver for work.
Denver is more laid back, cheaper/lower cost of living, healthier, less obese people, and more outdoorsy than Chicago.
Chicago on the other hand is more sophisticated, cultural, urban, more liberal, less redneck, better mass transit, better sports (Cubs/Bears/Bulls compared to the Rockies/Broncos/Nuggets), better restaurants, better bars that are open until 4 AM.
Overall, I'm very happy in Denver because I am very outdoorsy (avid skiier and climber) and the cost of living is much lower than Chicago. In Denver I live a very healthy/active lifestyle and my salary goes a long way. I live well, have fun, party hard and still save a lot of money.

I lived near Denver for 28 years (Broomfield). I now live in Wyoming near Jackson. I miss Denver, but I do NOT miss the traffic. I was there a couple weeks ago to visit family. If I could go back, I would. It is a great place for a young person. There are so many different places to go and the nightlife is excellent.

Moved to Castle Rock ( 30min. south of Denver ) 16 years ago. It's the best place in the country to live ( In my opinion ). We just got voted one if the top 10 family friendly towns in the US by Family Circle magazine

Denver rocks compared to Los Angeles, laid back and not nearly as dirty as LA and people are nicer, couldn't be happier here

Wonderful...beautiful...peaceful...great weather...lots to do.
Obviously I still love my home town, but Denver is so great, espically for my kids...and the economy is SO great here!
