when I am not formally trained, have no prior public exhibitions or professional artistic accomplishments to list? I keep reading about putting an artist's resume together, but I can't seem to fathom how I would could cobble one together without the aformentioned categories. I am trying to submit my art to a formal show for the first time, and I am needing the resume to accompany the images of my work. It's a classic Catch-22 -- needing the resume to get the experience, but needing the experience to build the resume! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to approach this, particularly from experience as an "Outsider Art"ist?
Thanks in advance!

Donate your artwork to schools, businesses, churches, etc. If/when it goes on display, theres something for you to put on a resume.

in your case I would just write a short mention of what your professional training in the non-art subject is.
If you have any evening classes list them, if you are entirely self taught write that and also approximately for how long you have been doing art.
If you participated in informal shows list those, you put down what you have. If you don't have anything, then just omit that point.
Quite a number of shows jury without the juror knowing the name of the artist (though they may be familar with their art style) and your previous experience isn't important, what count is the image.
It will be much more important how your image looks like, make sure it is a really good photograph.
Good luck

Did you study art in High School? You could start with that, just fluff it a bit with your teacher's names and years. Talk about yourself, when you decided to follow an artist's career, what inspires you, the mediums you use.
