birthday present?

its my girlfriends 19th birthday in a few weeks, i had £40 to spend from argos (with my argos card) only as i am skint at the moment because we have jus moved out together this month and we have little spare money, weve been together 18 months, is there any ideas from anyone about a birthday present, yet no cliche


p.s i m aware it depends on the type of girl but i would appriciate ideas. many thanks

Buy something that has to do about how you two met.
Or about the place you two first went on a date.
The song that played.

And add chocolat.
Not a large quantity, but a small amount of high quality stuff.
Best to look for a place that makes its own handmade bonbons.

So you give her something precious that is personal, (which can be any price, since it's alright if its very cheap), and something expensive and simply... jummy :P

And after that, do some labor for her.
Trim the lawn, cook dinner, put candles all over the place or rose petals. Those things are your own to do, not to buy.

Pay attention to her likes and dislikes, and if she expresses interest in a new hobby, buy her a book or accessory to go along with that hobby. For example if she says she wants to knit, get her a how-to book, some knitting needles, and some yarn. Get her a framed picture of a great day you spent together. Write a heartfelt card, or make one. Girls worth being with will always care more about the thought you put into the gift rather than its pricetag. If you give her something that shows you love and listen to her, she'll be happy.

How about a picnic in the park. You can make the food and bring it out for a romantic picnic under a tree.

You can get her something she really likes or uses. My boyfriend got me a few things, and one that touched me the most was the green bananas and v8 juice that he added to it. He knew I drank and ate those every morning and he got me some. That is so sweet to me. He showed me he cared. He also got me a photo album so I could put the pictures of us in there...... I love taking photos.

Take her to a picnic. Get some sandwiches, a bunch of flowers, a small box of chocolate and a nice card. Write what you feel for her. When you give it to her, tell her, you know it's not much but that you love her very much.

Buy a wicker basket from a charity shop, (the type you put fruit in) then fill with all the samples you can buy from a chemist. Soaps, bubble bath, shampoos etc. Then enclose in cellophane with a big ribbon. She will love all the different bottles and you could put some smelly candles in as well. Heaven.........

You could get a necklace, a ring, or something more practical that she might be able to use. You could give her the card so she can choose but so it seems more romantic, you could make a nice meal for her, give her a mushy card. Women love all than.
