The nearest thing we have to "pets" are the fish in the pond outside - but even if I had other pets, I don't think I would think of them as my children.

Yes. I've decided not to have kids and I think of my cat as my baby. She darn well better be after all the money I have spent on her. I had her less than 6 months and spent over $1000 on her. I don't think I'd spend that on a real kid. Guess it's cause of all that unconditional love and very little talk back.

Yea, they are part of your family. You provide them with a loving home, food, and care. It is good that uou are connected to it, because it know some people that go through pets in a couple of months.

Actually yes I do. Sometimes (don't tell anyone) I think of my children as my pets too.

Absolutely! Since our children have grown and flown the coop, we suffer from empty nest syndrome and that is a part of it.

I love my dog so much he sleeps in the house and I take him to Pet smart to get cleaned and get his teeth brushed and cleaned.
