let's put it another way.we have more than 50 % of the population homeless. what should be our priorities - ROTI, KAPRA AND MAKAN. or should we have realisation of dreams for less than 5 % of indian of european genes to be largest military of the world ( with not a single weapon even manufactured in india.)
should we bother about re-inventing the wheel and spend millions to satisfy the ego of a few feudal minded copycat scientists.
it's time to change our mindset and follow the footsteps of CHINA instead of the WHITES infested USA/EUROPE. we hate to admit that we are lagging behind in all respects of CHINA , our immedite neighbour. we can only talk of thereat percptions and spend millions with scames after scams to follow.

I agree that we have so many poor people. But we also need to give our Armed forces good weapons.Given the kind of neighbourhood we have,it is very important to have high tech armed forces.Just imagine this:India decides that it will have 1 nuclear bomb.If India's neighbours takes advantage of this, and nukes India.what will we be left with?????China has a dozen nuclear capable missiles, which can hit any part of India. Will India be secure when these countries are around us.

Is that a question or a matter of opinion with no room 4 a diff thought???? First f all let's not exaggerate the rate of poverty by throwing words like BILLIONS in2 the air. India's whole population is no where close 2 1.3 Billion let alone hungry BILLIONS. Now that falsity has been settled let's move on 2 a long past Republic Day parade's expenditure n its benifit. 26th Jan is the day when Indian Constitution was officially formulated, the day is celbrated with lots of Pomp n Jubiliaion as this is the day when India came 2 its own so yes it shud be celebrated with as much grandeur as possible because the dream of nation was realised that day in 1950.

U wudn't have ne India if u don't have a gud deterrent i.e. a gud professional armed force which can scare adverse forces away. This is the day when they march past the chosen leaders re affirmin the faith of the masses annually.

All the diff states showcase their own regional culture 2 the nation n in a way confirm their shared heritage within India. No other forum is available to achieve this.

1 nuclear bomb is enuff 4 a country maybe the size of Vatican. But when u r faced with countries like Pakistan, China, Bangladesh etc. with constant agressive moves against urself then u need 2 have as many bombs n as many other arms n equipments at ur disposal as u can. U rn't supposed 2 eat those bombs rather than use em a s a shield 2 go on bout earnin enuff 2 feed ur family n if u r generous enuff then the ppl around u, not 2 mention lead a free life in a democratic country. U won't be able 2 focus on ur own development if u r facin constant threat n attacks from ur own neighbours, that is the fact n us hud learn it while u can.

Yes! but realpolitik is different. The politicians have to pplay on your sense of patriotism as also fear and buy arms for defending "mother land" and in the process get rich. Ofcourse, the Army top brass also gets a cut. Anyway, this topic is a "holy cow" and it is something you have to live with as it is linked to emotional appeal rather than hard realties. Do you really think that by acquiring all these arms we can win a war?
