If the person filing suit gives you proper notice and you fail to appear at the appointed time, the judge will issue a summary judgement against you.

If you are sued by someone and duly served papers to that effect and you ignore the suit and don't go to court, a default judgment is declared by the judge in the case when it come to court. Don't ignore a lawsuit.

You would get a default judgment entered against you. It could be for any amount the plaintiff claims. The court will order you to pay. The plaintiff will be able to use any means to collect his money.

If you ignore a civil suit, you lose by default. The answer does not get any more complete than that.

if you are the one being sued and you ignore the summons a bench warrant would be issued for your arrest for failure to appear and you would be arrested
