I spent the night with my ex-boyfriend because I had to be somewhere REALLY early and he lives really close to there. He made me my favorite dinner, brought up fun times we shared, and suddenly hugged me and told me it was good to see me again, it had been a long time ( it had only been a few months). He did a lot of small but special things for me, too.
He also apologized for being a jerk lately, too, when I didn't bring it up or act like anything mattered.
Do you think he wants to get back together?

It is highly possible that he wants to get back together, but it is a matter of why and for how long. Look back on your history to see how it is likely to go this time around. Most guys will not change their behavior unless something remarkable has happened to MAKE them change.
Either he really misses you and really wants to give a second time around his best shot, or he's having a dry spell and sees you as available.
I think you should take it nice and slow this time out.
I do NOT recommend moving in with any guy unless there is already an engagement ring and a projected date for the marriage ceremony... at which point it is a good way to make sure of the compatibility.

I try to be like that with my X, but can't forgive her for sleeping around and though I am nice to her, I don't think I want her back in my life.

He need sex, that's all. If he act like a jerk before what make you think he won't do it again.
