You can get it installed on your computer hiddin inside other programs or files or it may be physically placed on your computer by someone.

A keylogger can track everywhere you surf or it may be as bad as having every comment you type recorded for blackmail purposes or worse your ID can be stolen.

a keylogger is normally part of a virus. it logs key strokes and sends the data back to the person who sent you the virus, or was responsible for making the virus and is commonly used to phish/steal accounts.

it can be used to steal AIM, myspace, facebook, steam, and other accounts.

it can also be used to keep track of whatever someone types (ie: a wife installs a keylogger on her husbands computer to keep track of what he's doing).

the damage that could be done is stolen bank accounts, credit card numbers, accounts, etc. the keylogger itself will not damage data on the computer, however it may be part of a virus that will.

a keylogger is a spy tool used to see everything you have typed, looked at,visited, downloaded, talked to online. it can not dmamage the system but the person who is vewing the info can. also they don't need access as long as it's installed all they mst likely need to do is check there email due to the fact most keyloggers will email all the data it gleaed in a time frame set by the one who installed. if you have one, i would look at someone in the household who put it there.
webroot spysweeper will find and delete it if you wish. if someone in your home installed might wanna have a chat with them. see if they'll uninstall it.

It's a computer program that 'logs'/captures overy keystroke on a cumputer and stores the info...
I worked for a place that ran it on the company network. It was used to track what employees actually *did* with their time. So sometimes, individuals or companies use it to 'spy'. Also it can be part of a worm or virus infection program like a bot that tracks what a user is doing on a PC and sells information for marketing, or other less legitmate reasons.

a keylogger is a program that copies your password and other info you type and sends to the person who's put it there.
for example al puts keylogger on your pc he than can see what you type and know what sites you vist etc.....
al than can use your passwords and access your accounts, from there he could change your passwords etc...
generally a keylogger is installed on the pc, but it is possible that it can be spread thru a virus by email for example

Hi,

A key-logger is someone who sets up something to con you into giving you their password like say this website for instance, someone may say i'll make you top of the leader-board if you give me your password although it would be thought out better and on a website not an email, then they would muck it up for you.
