Everyone in my family (except my parents) says i need a hardship bc i have so many things going on in my life, but no one else can drive me to them. Things like work, and doctors appointments. How can you apply to get a hardship?

Contact the DMV and ask them what the procedure is in your area. The first thing they will tell you is not having someone to take you where you want to be is NOT a hardship in their eyes. You have to demonstrate that you NEED to be able to get there and driving yourself is the ONLY way to get there. Unless your family depends on your income, your job does not qualify. If public transportation is available, your doctors appointments probably don't either.

I doubt that you will be able to get one without the support of your parents because who will be buying you a car and insurance? Even if you have the money available, I don't know of any state that allows a minor to sign a title for a vehicle...It's a contract...if you're under 18, you can't sign a contract. Usually hardship licenses are reserved for people who have very extenuating circumstances...for example: if you live with only one parent and they are blind/deaf, etc and are not capable of driving, then you might be eligible to get a hardship license to help your family. Last I heard, they DO NOT give out a hardship license to someone who is just very busy and their family members are too busy to drive them.

i would think that your DMV could give you the guidelines for which these are granted. But be careful and call every week to be sure that it is active.... in the state I live in the licenses are almost revolving.
