Whenever I want to burn a disk, I frequently get the "please insert a blank disk into the drive" . Sometimes I can just eject and reload, but sometimes I have to throw the blank disk out and get another. Sometimes I have to close out the window, or even reboot the computer to get it to work. What's up with this? I have talked to 2 other people today that have had the same trouble. There must be an easy answer.

You could either have cheap discs, or you may have an issue with your software. There is bad software out there that affects the operation of legitimate burning software. Roxio/Sonic is especially suceptible to this. Take off any third party dvd decoding/burning software, uninstall reinstall your good program, then do any updates, then go into the drive properties and make sure that recording is enabled. Dont use cheap discs. Theyre more expensive in the long run
