Well here is the truth.

The environmental movement has long been coveted (many decades) by the left and groups leaning that way, although not exclusively.

It has been seen as one of their issues...... so do we all get it now don't we?

For some it doesn't matter, its "their" issue and it must be attacked or made wrong at any cost. In addition some conservatives feel that they are being blamed for some of the environmental problems because of their loose environmental polices.

I do see that many Republicans cared for the Environment all along and many others are waking up to the problems. At this point its really only a small percentage who oppose or don't care. The problem is that some of those who oppose, ignore, or don't care are in positions of power and influence.

In refrence to the question, I would like more examples for what "caring about the environment" means. Do you mean that the country requires a shift from fossil fuels to alternative energy? Do you mean that drilling oil in alaska is harmful to wildlife. Are you saying that the continued use of fossil fuels is causing global warming? In response to the last question, many are in a fix that mankinds abuse of oil is warming the earth. Did you ever stop to consider in your accusation of the republicans that the earth has had warm points elsewhere in its long history as well as cold points. Did you ever consider why and how the last ice ages came and went? The earth is an ever-changing planet and human influences have little to do with that. Global Warming is a hoax and I hope that this response will get more people thinking.

Why don't Democrats care about protecting children from child molesters?

/sarcasm

Do you see how ridiculous your kind of question is? Republicans do care about protecting the environment, but they don't go to the extreme in order to do so. The life of a human is more important than the life of an animal.

I'm a Republican and I do care about the environment. Changing our habits was the right course of action when the truth was told and honesty prevailed. The spotted owl is an example of when it didn't. Man-made global warming is the worst example of when it isn't.
I work in the space tracking industry and the sun is causing the current warming. In a few years it will start to cool again like it has for thousands of years.

What exactly are you citing? I would like to know because I am neither republican or Democrat and I care about the environment but only as far as people littering, and destroying our bodies of water with trash. History repeats itself it has been said time and time again. It is not us causing the pollution and killing our environment as far as global warming is concerned. Look up the history of the earth. Hazardous waste dumping and polluting the air causes people to be sick and animals to die but it is not causing the glaciers to melt and the water to dry up. Now tell me where they don't care.

As a staunch Republican, I have to insist that we do care about the environment. It is on my list right behind making money, raping the environment, and keeping ignorant little shits like you down and out. Stay a loser, it makes it easier for Republicans like me to stay ahead and do well.

Neither party cares.

Bill Clinton never submitted the Kyoto treaty to the Senate for ratification and refused to enact the terms of the protocol through his control of the EPA. Seeing the President has a lot of control over the EPA, he could have had the EPA implement a significant portion of the treaty without having it ratified.

George Bush has ignored Kyoto also.

Now there are some Republicans who care like Arnold Schwarzenegger, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Gordon Smith, and Jodi Rell to name a few.

You are too smart for me to answer oh learned one. I am a conservative who usually votes republican and having been involved in Agriculture for over 30 years have spend most of those years trying to improve the enviroment I live in and around along with about 50 to 60 thousand others in this business. But of course most of us being republican we were secretly trying to hurt the enviroment so we couldn't have a better place for our kids to grow up in or at least just as good as we have. Geeez stop hiting the pipe so hard your brain is leaking out of your ears.....and that not enviromenatlly friendly....you know toxic waste and all
