You know that little indestructible black box that is used on planes, why can't they make the whole plane out of the same substance?

What? Steeling some comedians routine and calling it your own?

Why not? Because it is called a plane, not a black box. If made out of black box material, the plane wouldn't fly. You have to trade off weight and strength. Plus that black box isn't necessarily placed in the most dangerous part of the plane either.

Next you'll be saying if you seat cushion becomes a flotation device when you crash in water, why doesn't the plane become a boat!

For a start its not indestructible and its not black its bright yellow with black bands around it and if they made a plane from this material it would be far to heavy to fly.

that would be a very good idea. but i don't know why they don't. it could be too heavy.
