Just wanted to put this out there since there are so many of us using these tests out there!
I used an Equate pregnancy test (Wal Mart Brand) with a purple cap this morning. It was a regular NOT EARLY detection test. I used first morning urine and the plus sign came up right away. The vertical line was lighter than the horizontal line but it was there...husband confirmed it! After about 6-7 minutes the positive line faded away! My husband ran to the store and bought First responce early detection and Clearblue easy early digital and using the same first morning urine they came out negative.
I dont know if there is a problem with the equate tests..I read on www.peeonastick.com that they had problems with the white cap ones but I wanted to share this so you were all aware. It is so much worse to get a false positive than a regular old neg.
Don't worry..we will keep trying and I hope we will all be lucky very soon and get our "true" positives. I just wont be using EQUATE Brand!

Thank You to everyone for your kinds words and for telling me which tests work best for you. I too have never had a problem with the First Responce so I think I will stick with them!
Also, I did e-mail the pee on a stick lady.. i know that she compiles the data and posts it on her site.
Thanks again everyone!!

Awww honey, I'm so sorry you had to endure all that. The two-week wait is bad enough, and then to have to go through that roller coaster at testing time.
I agree with Stephanie S. I only use First Response....hpt and opk's. My results have always been accurate. No evap lines or any other line that goes away or shows up after the allotted time. The test result has never changed. I got a positive pregnancy test result a year ago and I saved it as a souvenir and it STILL very clearly says pregnant.
Now this isn't to say you are not pregnant, just may be early for you to test. Not everyone is positive early or on the day their period is due. If your period is due today and it doesn't come in a couple of days, test again.
Good luck Pumpkin!

I had the same issue with the Answer brand last year and it was devastating. It is called a "phantom line" when it is clearly visible and then it completely disappears, like it was never there. You feel crazy, like you imagined it! And mine was a confirmed false positive by a blood test later that day that came back at 0.
That's when I read comments on here like "A line is a line" and "There is no such thing as a false positive" I get irritated. They do happen, more frequently than one would think, and getting one is very disappointing.
Did you send an email to the Peeonastick lady? She likes to keep up with reports so she can update her alerts page.
Good luck on getting your true BFP soon!

I have had the best of luck with the First Response pregnancy tests. I have always used them and they have been 100% accurate for me. I would suggest to use it. We have been trying for 9 months with all negative tests and finally in June I missed my period and got a positive one. The lines on the first response is hard to tell always one line is darker and one line is faint but that is positive. Also it depends on the HCG hormone so if you havent got your period yet take another test in 3 days since the HCG level doubles every 2 days. Good luck to you.

Thank you. I got a false positive about 3 weeks ago with an e.p.t. test. It was so frustrating when I started my period because I thought all the PMS signs were pregnancy signs. I also had the false positive HPT the day I was supposed to start my period and my period came 5 days late. I will probably do 3 tests next time I test just to make sure. Thanks, again!

I think there is a good chance that you really are pregnant. I used an Equate test and it was accurate. I would wait a few days and test again.

You do know that positive pregnancy test lines DO fade... don't you? You need to wait a week and retest again, because its common to get false negatives. That's why the back of the boxes say that after 10 minutes, the test results can be wrong, because the positive lines fade.
