Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

For viruses use AVG free version and for spyware use
Ad-Aware 2007 free version. NOTE: Ad-Aware 2007 is not compatiable with Windows Vista yet.

For Antivirus try www.avast.com for a GOOD and FREE solution.

For spyware however . . .

I'd reccomend these 2, run each in turn
ADAWARE fro www.lavasoftusa.com (Free personal version)
also SPYBOT S&D from www.spybot.org (Again free for home use)

Also worth having in toolbox is CCLEANER from www.ccleaner.com again a free download, and a good general windows tidyup utility.

You obviously are in need of a good quality security suite that includes anti-spyware and anti-virus. There are many out there but if you're looking for free software try:

AVG anti-virus http://free.grisoft.com
Avast anti-virus http://www.avast.com
Spybot S&D anti-spyware http://www.safer-networking.com
AdAware http://www.lavasoft.com

AdAware and Spybot S&D are good, as are the anti-virus softwares above but remember that you will receive no support for these programs so if you use them consider purchasing them!
