I think it really depends on the school...While the University of Kentucky is really intense, smaller liberal arts schools are probably a bit more laid back...My sister cheered in college (at a smaller school), and they had 5 a.m. workouts several times per week, in addition to games. She really enjoyed it...If you really like cheerleading for the athletic aspects (as opposed to doing it just for social reasons), you will likely like college cheerleading. Many squads have tumbling requirements (look online for the details at different schools). Oh, and time management skills are also definitely important, but, I have found, the more involved I am in something besides school, the better I perform in school ..Good luck!

I agree with others and the fact it depends where you go. I go to Louisville and it is a huge committment. It will be a committment wherever you go, but my school also competes. Some colleges do not compete so you cheer for sports and that is it. If you cheered competitively and used a spring floor to tumble, that is a huge difference as well. Yli do not get spring floor in college cheer. But college cheer being hard at times is extremely fun and it is definitely worth trying!

Depends on the school. University of Kentucky's squad are National Champions so they're pretty intense. Just stay focused and find a way to balance cheer, school, and a social life.

Stay stretched and practice a lot!

it is and it isnt like every1 else said it depends on the school but my high school was pretty intense as it was we had more practices and workout schedules than the football players did so it all depends how commited you are. and if you want to pursue it as a career. but if u love it that much the intensity doesnt seem that bad. you might die the 1st 2 weeks but after that u get used to the routine really quick haha have fun!!!

Depends on how bad you want it--if its worth it to you--go for it.
