I don't think this is new. I think people go along with what their peers think. If they think being educated makes you a snob or not cool, then you aren't going to do that. I think it is hard for people to go against the grain of what they are around. Those that break away from this type of thinking are going to do much better, though they may go it alone.

not necessarily offended, but whether it be youthful
protest of society, or just plain sloppiness, our language
and written word are really taking it in the shorts.
