When we were kids, we used to peel apart the morning glories that grew in our backyard, along the fence, and we would stick them on our faces.
I have a photo of myself when I was in my 20's. I'm sitting on the front lawn at my aunt's house in the country. It's the middle of summer and all is green and the sky is blue. I'm sitting there pulling apart a morning glory. But I remember I was talking with my siblings and feeling very peaceful and didn't even realize what I was doing with my hands.
Thanks for bringing that thought to mind. It's very peaceful.

Well, once when I was a Boy Scout, long ago.I was on a long hike with a full pack and I hated it.On and on we went. The pack was killing me and I couldn't wait till we got to the camp sight.
Along the way we started on an incline up a mountain, this I hated even more, but any way, almost to the top we stopped for a moment. There was a clearing in the trees.I then saw the most Majestic scene I have ever seen, of the Mountains and Hills
It was fantastic!.

Can remember all the way back even to taking baths in the sink. My memories are a gift from god I have of my father. He is still with me now. Like I said it is a gift from god!

In the early part of WW2, I was evacuated to a small seaside town in North Wales, called Rhyl.
Rhyl is on the stretch of coast, called Liverpool bay and the Clywd River empties out into it.
At six / seven years old, I couldn't swim, but loved the sea.
I used to wade out, on an ebbing tide, until the water was
touching my chin. The current from the river, then used to pick me up and carry me along, and then put me down again.
I did this, on numerous occasions and today, frequently wonder how I survived.
Maybe somebody Upstairs, was looking after me.

Catching fireflies when i was a small little girl-and this might sound cruel but I didn't know any better then-I would pull off the lit up part and stick it on my finger and pretend it was a diamond ring. It would stay illuminated for a long time and to me I had diamonds on all fingers. Sweet memories of innocence.

When I was 10, my school went on a trip to Yorkshire for a week, and on our first night, at around 10 PM, in the middle of November at say, -5 degree's, we were made to do a night walk, but we weren't aloud to carry our torches.. And we had to keep our eyes shut, it was safe though, but we had to use our hearing and our feet ETC.. to 'see', the feeling, even as a 10 year old, when I finished the walk, was so exhilarating !

Watching thunderstorms come rolling over the mountains. They were just so majestic, and we'd often lose power to the TV, giving us just one more reason to watch the awesome power of the dark inky clouds that sent torrents of water racing through our gutters. Lightening lights up the horizon with a brilliant flash, and the peal of thunder sent my dog scurrying for the heavy wooden desk in our basement.

My best friend lived next door and one day mumbling under her breath his mom said "I should tear that [unattached] garage down you boys are going to get hurt in it one day"
well that was enough for us by the time she got home Scott and I had torn down the garage!!... I have to laugh because if I look at the house on google earth I can still see the empty lot 30 years later (the garage was outside does that count as nature?)
HOW 'EFFIN' FUNNY!!...
